MARGAO: St Mary High School, Varca, St Aloysius High School, Benaulim and Our Lady of Lourdes High School, Utorda won their respective matches in under-17 Salcete Taluka inter-school boys football tournament, organized by DSYA, at Manora ground, Raia, on Monday.
In the first match, St Mary defeated St Jude HS, Betalbatim 5-4 via the tie-breaker after the teams were locked 1-1 at full time.
St Aloysius trounced Bhatikar Model HS, Margao 3-0 with goals from John Dias, Levy Pereira and Sanju Singh.
OL of Lourdes HS scored a comfortable 5-1 victory over Cambridge School, Benaulim. Lennin D’Melo scored a brace while Lionel Fernandes, Aaron Vaz and Nikhil Pinto accounted one goal each for the winners. Hanniger Fernandes reduced the margin for Cambridge school.
