St Pius High School, Orlim, Infant Jesus High School, Colva and Marina English High School, Verna recorded victories in the Salcete Taluka U-14 boys inter-school football tournament at Government ground, Manora, Raia on Wednesday.
St Pius outplayed Bhatikar Model English HS, Margao 8-1. St Pius dominated the proceedings as their opponents struggled to contain the rampaging St Pius forwards. The highlight of the day was a four-goal blitz including a hat-trick by Nash Rebello. Calvio Rodrigues, Joylon Cardozo, Nash Pereira, Xavier D’Costa and Preinceval Fernandes completed the rout while Yogesh Yadav scored the consolation goal for Bhatikar.
Infant Jesus swamped King’s HS, Margao 6-1. Sneeden Rodrigues scored four goals including a hat-trick while Dylon Lawrence and Keegan Menezes accounted one goal each for the winners.
Loyola HS made short work of St Jude HS, Betalbatim 4-0. Sneeden Madeira was the hero of the day as he struck twice for Loyola while Ronaldo Mascarenhas and Daven Fernandes scored one each for Loyola.
Marina Englsih HS scored a solitary goal win over Our Lady of Carmel HS, Curtorim. The all-important goal was scored in the first session by Frazer Baretto.
