MAPUSA: St Savio’s SC, Calangute, registered a 8-7 win via sudden death over Sinquerim SC to advance ahead in the 3rd Rosary Cup Mandrem Soccer tournament organised by Dunes Sports Club at Mandrem Village Panchayat ground, Mandrem, on Monday.
The teams were locked in a 1-1 draw at the end of regulation time. In the 35th minute, Dominic Fernandes put St Savio’s SC ahead with a neat placement, 1-0. Just four minutes later, Gopal Gaddi entering the penalty box placed the ball into the net, 1-1.
In the tie-breaker, St Savio’s SC won by 7-6 margin. First goal scorer was awarded to Dominic Fernandes of St Savio’s SC.
