St. Sebastiao Youth Club Murida, Fatorda emerged champions of the 20th Edition of the Velim Panchayat Cup after defeating Guardian Angel Sports Club, Curchorem 3–2 in a nail-biting tie-breaker finale. The tournament, organised by the Sports and Welfare Club of Zaino, Velim, concluded recently at the Velim Church grounds in front of a packed Sunday crowd.
The final saw both teams adopt a cautious, midfield-heavy approach. Guardian Angel SC gradually increased pressure, but Fatorda goalkeeper Royston Colaco produced crucial saves to block strong attempts from Victorino and Reagan. At the other end, Guardian Angel’s goalkeeper Oswin denied Ainsley’s near goal in the dying moments, forcing the match into penalties after a goalless draw.

In the shootout, St. Sebastiao’s Nicolau Borges, Samson Dias, and Edison Dias converted their attempts, while Sheldon Fernandes and Ivo Costa found the net for Guardian Angel SC.
Earlier, in the exhibition match between the Velim Eves and the Agonda Eves, Agonda secured a dominant 3–0 victory.
The prize distribution ceremony was graced by Chief Guest MLA Cruz Silva, Guest of Honour Joe Dias, Fr. Santo Antonio Pereira, VP Velim representatives, GFA members, SWC Zaino officials, and several dignitaries.

Additionally, SWC Zaino honoured team manager Vermon Fernandes for his dedicated service to the club.
