CURTORIM: St. Xavier’s Institute, Curtorim held their 66th Annual Sports day at the Curtorim Church ground which was filled with the warmth of excited parents, spirited pupils and the enthusiastic staff and management based on the theme, “Believe it, Do it, Achieve it”.
The chief guest for the function was the parish priest of St. Alex Church, Curtorim Fr. Joseph Rowland Salema who declared the sports day open in the presence of Laurita A F Sardinha, a retired teacher of the school who was the guest of honour.
Besides the march past, mass drill and the regular sports races, a colourful and energetic variety programme displayed the all-round talents of the school students. The programme included the star dance, fan dance, pom-pom drill, zumba and Goan folk dances. The cycle drill and the Mallakamb performance displayed the courage and physical fitness of the students.
