CANSAULIM: Salgaocar FC U-20 team defeated Mangor Sports Club 6-0 in a GFA 2nd Division play-off fixture, at Cansaulim ground, on Friday.
Goals from Stephen Satardekar, Raja Rawat, Myron Borges, Constancio Rodrigues, Yamnur Pinjur and Domnic Soares gave the Greens a winning start.
The first half had not much to offer to the spectators. Many missed chances as the Salgaocar colts seemed to be lacking a finishing touch. The downfall for Mangor SC would have begun in the eight minute as Stephen made a cross to Jason Barbosa who only had to tap it in but failed to do so. Another of Stephen’s attempts to break the deadlock was squandered when Myron just shot a tap in out wide of the far post. Most of the play hereafter remained restricted to the midfield. The Mangor SC defenders and custodian did their jobs well as they denied the Greens a single goal to before heading in for half-time.
Stephen drew first blood at the hour mark and Raja doubled the lead while Myron, Constancio, Yamnur and Domnic scored a goal each.
