MARGAO: Hosts Goa’s misery continued as they went down to Andhra Pradesh by 170 runs in South Zone Subbaiih Pillay cricket tournament at BITS Pilani ground, Vasco, Monday.

Goa now have a deficit of -2 points from four matches. This is Goa’s fourth defeat in-a-row.

Batting first, Andhra Pradesh piled up 261 for the loss of six wickets in their allotted 50 overs.

The Goan innings collapsed for just 91 runs in 25.4 overs with Buddhadev Mangaldas, who batted at No 10 position, being the top scorer with 17 runs. Seven Goa’s batsman including Sagun, Swapnil, Amogh, Reagan, Bisla failed to reach double-figures.

For Andhra, K S Shahabuddin and B Sudhakar picked up three wickets each while P Vijaykumar and A G Praveen bagged two each.

At MCC ground, Margao, Kerala got the better of Tamil Nadu by five wickets thanks to a brilliant unbeaten 85 by Sanju Vishwanathan and Sachin Baby’s patient knock of 61 runs.
