Tadeo claims double crown in Inter-Seraulim carrom tourney

RAIA: Tadeo Fernandes claimed doubled crown in the three-week long Inter-Seraulim Table Tennis and Carrom tournament organised by United Sports Club of Seraulim.

In the carrom singles, Tadeo outplayed Jess Cardozo 29- 26. He further claimed the carrom doubles partnering Sachin Fernandes. They defeated Sandip Shanke and Bernard Gomes 29-21.

Other finals results, carrom juniors singles – Ashton Fernandes outsmarted Alton Fernandes 29-23. Ladies singles – Maria Alvares outplayed Josephine Furtado 29 -18.

Table tennis men’s singles – Kennedy Noronha outplayed Sandip Shanke 10-21, 21-16, 21-18.

Men’s doubles – Sam Palha and Agnelo Fernandes outplayed Fr Jose Gomes and Kennedy Noronha.

Ladies singles – Juriel Pereira outsmarted Espy Gomes 11-8, 11-7.

Juniors singles – Alton Fernandes was awarded the winner as Srohan Shanke was unable to play due to a hand fracture and was awarded the runners-up place.

Ethan Rodrigues was awarded the up-coming player in table tennis and Leasley, who partnered his brother Anthony Fernandes in carom, were awarded the smart play award in carrom. Beyonce, a 5-year-girl, who came to cheer the participants during the tournament, was awarded the best spectator award.

Fr John Gonsalves and Fr Jose Gomes gave away the prizes. 139 participants took part in the competitions.
