Tanisi continues to dazzle

The young table tennis sensation finished on top in the sub-junior girls, junior girls and women’s categories; Siddhant Parekh secured a double crown

PANJIM: Tanisi Kirtani, Goa’s young table-tennis sensation was unstoppable as she clinched a treble at the State table tennis championships, organized by Goa Table Tennis Association, in collaboration with Sports Authority of Goa for Adv. Madhav Rao Trophies, at indoor stadium, Campal, here, on Saturday.
The Dempo goodwill ambassador finished top in sub junior girls, junior girls and women’s categories, getting the better of Isha Bhandary on all three ocassions. 
In the sub-junior girls category, Tanisi bt Isha 11-6, 13-11, 11-2). In junior girls event, Tanisi continued and won comfortably in three straight sets 11-6, 11-7, 11-4. In the women’s final, the Lusofonia gold medallist did not drop a set. 
In the men’s final, P Adarsh bt Manish Yadav 11-2, 11-5, 11-8, 9-11, 11-3.
Siddhant Parekh bt Wesley Do Rosario 5-11, 11-9, 11-5, 6-11, 11-6 in the sub junior final and also did the same against the same opponent in the junior boys final, winning 11-4, 6-11, 11-5, 11-4.
Vero Nunes, President of Goa Table Tennis Association briefed the audience on the performances of Goa’s players. Subhash Pandit, was the chief guest and gave away the prizes in the presence of vice-president Gaurish Dhond and Adv. Mahesh Rao. General Secretary, Vishnu Colvalker gave the report of the National performances and joint secretary, Ashok Mahambrey proposed the vote of thanks.
