But, welcome to the office of the Administrator of Comunidades, South zone where the 29-odd staff is waiting for salaries for the last four months. Their plea to the office of the Chief Minster and Revenue Minister, besides other high ranking officials, including the district Collector has failed to evoke any positive response till date.
Frustrated over the government apathy and indifference from the Comunidade officials, the employees have now threatened a pen down strike if their problem is not addressed immediately.
“Due to non receipt of salaries, we have defaulted in the payment of children’s education fees, besides repayment of housing loans and payment of water bills, LIC premium etc. We are compelled to approach non-institutional suppliers of credit to finance our urgent requirements and tide over the hard time we find ourselves”, remarked a beleaguered employee.
This is not the first time that the salary disbursement of the employees of the office of South Goa Administrator Comunidade and their plight was taken cognizance by the Goa Human Rights Commission by passing directions to the Goa government on the issue.
