PANJIM: Tashina and Jisha played out an entertaining game on court one as both players went back and forth in their quest to win the opening game of the ladies singles category on day four of Gadre Gaspar Dias Open, on Monday.
Jisha won the opening set 4-0 to give herself the advantage.
However, Tashina had other ideas up her sleeve and took the next two sets 4-2, 4-1 to win the game 0-4, 4-2, 4-1.
With this win Tashina moves into the next round.
On court two, Eva got the better of Anudnya in a pulsating game.
Both players won one set each to set up a deciding set.
The first set was won by Eva 4-2 followed by Anudnya fighing by to take the second set 4-2.
In the final deciding set both players held on to their own but Eva eventually won it 10-6 moving into the next round.
In the men’s doubles category, Anant and Vijay S played out a sublime game to win against Suresh K and Sandeep V in straight sets 6-0, 6-1.
The pairing will move into the next round of the men’s doubles category.
