BENAULIM: UB40 Colva defeated St Sebastian Union Club 3-1 to clinch the 11th Sereno Cardozo Memorial Rolling Trophy in the final organised by Best friends of Illeant, Benaulim, recently.
The first goal of the match was scored by Joliton Fernandes for Colva off a long pass from Maxon Fernandes.
Maxon was instrumental in yet another goal as he sent a well measured pass to Joliton Fernandes who scored in the 39th minute for the Colva side.
Raju Chalawadi of St Sebastian pulled a goal back with a snap shot in the 41st minute.
It was Joliton Fernandes of Colva who completed his hat-trick in the 56th minute.
The winners were awarded Rs 20,000 while the runners up pocketed Rs 15,000.
Maxon Fernandes of UB40 Colva claimed best defender prize while Joliton Fernandes received the best striker award.
David Fernandes was the chief guest and gave away the prizes in the presence of Raul Cardozo and other dignitaries.
