In the first half, Velsao SCC led 2-0.
With this win Velsao SCC qualified for next seasons Second Division League after playing six matches and winning four with a draw and defeat each under the guidance of coach, Api Pinto and team manager, Borges D’Costa.
Jowet Barretto’s hat-trick was the highlight of the match. Jowet could have opened the scoring in the 20th minute but ballooned over after being fed by Hasten Pereira.
However, Jowet made amends with two quick goals in the 30th and 38th minutes.
Crossing over, Jowet secured his hat-trick in the 57th minute with a powerful grounder off a supply by Richard Rodrigues.
At the other end, Parish Youth Association pulled two goals back through Salvador Fernandes scored in the 66th minute and Samson Cruz in the 70th minute.
Velsao SCC made it 4-2 through Hasten Pereira in 87th minute off a supply by Jowet and Richard Rodrigues netted a brace in the dying minutes.
At Candolim ground, St Savio Sports Club hammered Sangolda Lightning Club 4-0. It was Dahud Maldar who opened the floodgates for the Calangute side in the 36th minute. Just before the break, St Savio SC doubled the lead through Deep Govekar.
On resumption, St Savio SC fired in two more goals in the final stages through Izahar Khan (81st) and Anand Asgaonkar (89th).
