PANJIM: Hosts Velsao United got the better of Zamrich Candolim 3-1 to emerge champions of 3rd All-Goa beach football organized by Velsao United Sports and Cultural Club at Velsao beach, Sunday.
Velsao United rode on two first half goals from Reagan and Jacinto. Both the goals were scored in the fifth and 12th minutes respectively.

Velsao United surged ahead when Candolim goalkeeper Joelif let the ball in off a throw-in by Velsao United goalkeeper Reagan from the other end. Later, after receiving a cross from winger Jesusly, Velsao United forward Jacinto did well to escape his marker Marshall and slot home to make it 2-0.
In the second half, Zamrich Candolim looked to have found their rhythm when Melwin’s free-kick deflected off Jacinto’s foot and went in.
With just three minutes to go before the final whistle Velsao defender Dunga drove the final nail into the rival coffin. Referee Jack flashed the yellow card to Velsao United’s Menino Xavier for dangerous play.
Chief guest Fr John D’Silva and Sarpanch Fatima Pereira gave away the prizes and felicitated five national players from Velsao.
Club president Borges Fernandes proposed the vote of thanks.
