PANJIM: Xetrapal SC defeated Quitla SC 2-0 to book a semi final berth of the Sinquerim Cup, on Thursday.
Vipul Pednekar gave Xetrapal the lead in the 15th minute however Quitla SC could have restored parity in the 16th minute but Sanjay Mayekar failed to convert an easy chance. However any hope of a Quitla comeback were further dented by Bradley Lobo who made it 2-0 in the 30th minute after Vipul Pednekar right footed shot deflected off the cross bar for a simple tap in for Lobo.
Quitla went all out in the second half but were denied by Xetrapal defence which stood rock solid at the back. Quitla tested the Xetrapal Goal keeper Nandadeep Narvekar who pulled off some fine saves. Xetrapal SC will play FC Siolim in the finals of the Sinquerim Cup.
