PANJIM: Youth Club Manora thrashed Holy Cross SC Arambol 6-0 in the GENO First Division League organised by Goa Football Association (GFA), played at Sirsaim ground, on Wednesday.
Francis Andrade opened the scoring for the winners in the 14th minute with a fine shot into the nets that eased past the Arambol keeper to give his side an early lead in the game.
Roston Costa and Joslopy Moniz added two more goals in the 16th and 24th minutes respectively to give their side a well deserved lead. Francis Andrade made it 4-0 in the 42nd minute.
The second half saw the game slow down in pace as the Arambol side were made to drop low during the entire session. Two more goals in the final minutes from Roston Costa and Josloy Moniz sealed a 6-0 win for the Manora team.
With this win, Manora team have collected a total of 8 points from 6 games while the Arambol side are still looking to get to winning terms.
In another game played at Artificial turf, Fatorda, Goa Police Sports Club beat UC Telaulim 2-1.
The teams got off to a good start and created a couple of chances, but failed to convert early on. Goa Police playing their first game in the league finally opened their tally in the 38th minute through Niraj D’Mello.
On changing sides, Shaikh Mouzzan Saliya added another for the Police in the 75th minute. Abay Shetty pulled one down for the Tealulim side in the 80th minute.
