ECLATE-CURTORIM: Youth of Pedadigal shot-out Cumborda 6-5 via the tie-breaker to lift 2nd Peidadigal Curtorim inter-ward football cup, at Eclate-Curtorim ground, on Saturday.
Both teams dished out a good football but it was Caji Bhogot of Peidadigal who netted the first goal with a placement shot in the tenth minute. Later in the 47th minute, Marcus Fernandes equalised for Cumborda with a snap shot.
In the resultant tie-breaker, Youth of Peidadigal proved to be better shooters.
The winners were awarded Rs. 10,000 while the runners-up received Rs 8,000 plus trophies.
Diniz Sardinha, President of Curtorim Gymkhana was the chief guest and gave away the prizes to the winners and runners-up in the presence of Fr Joseph Rowland Salema, parish priest of St Alex Church, Curtorim, Savio Fernandes, Regino Fernandes and other dignitaries.
