The Zilla Panchayat election results showed the BJP making strong gains in Bardez taluka, winning six of the nine seats, while the Congress secured two. BJP candidates triumphed in Siolim, Anjuna, Calangute, Reis Magos, Penha de Franca and Socorro. Congress retained Aldona and Sirsaim, winning both by narrow margins.
