PONDA: Accusing the government of involving him in a false case to politically malign his image, former chief minister Ravi Naik stated that he is being falsely framed as he is likely to contest and win the North Goa Lok Sabha seat on the Congress ticket.
Addressing a news conference, Naik alleged that Chief Minister Manohar Parrikar has involved him in a false job recruitment case.
“The recruitment was legal and it was made by following due process. The chief minister should know this. No recruitment takes place without all rules being followed,” stated Naik, while reacting to media persons on the FIR filed by ACB.
He further said there is no scope for scam in job recruitment of bull attendants, as alleged in the FIR by Anti-Corruption Branch and some other veterinary officials and the candidates.
“I neither manipulated nor violated the election code of conduct and the decision was approved in the Cabinet.”
According to Naik, he is not responsible for the recruitment as the Cabinet had approved of the job recruitment.
“Why is an FIR not being filed against the whole Cabinet, which took the decision,” asked Naik.
“This is only a political conspiracy against me. This recruitment was not for only one, but all talukas,” said Naik and challenged the chief minister that if he was really interested in filing FIR, then he should also file an FIR against those officials in RTO who obtained jobs by providing false certificates and documents.
