Vasco: A video of a daredevilry by a bike rider at Zuarinagar junction which was circulated on Monday over social media groups generated huge reaction from the netizens. People expressed unhappiness and were annoyed over the reckless daredevilry shown by an unknown youth.
The viral video shows an unknown youth standing on a moving bike and even jumping the red traffic signal at the MES college Zuarinagar junction on the National Highway.
When contacted, Saish Sansgiri, a youth from Vasco said the youth has to be booked and his driving licence suspended for lifetime to set an example for others.
He further said that the person who recorded and circulated the video needs to be caught and questioned. Sansgiri also opined that with the changing times, our reinforcement system needs to be speedy so as to nab such violators, only then will such misadventures come down.
Lourdes Carvalho a Vasco-based lawyer said that stunts such as these performed on public roads are in total disregard of safety of self, safety of other commuters and no fear of law. It is obvious that parents of such children have no control over them because of their self-destructive behaviour.
Anzil Godinho said the person violating the traffic signal and doing such stunts at the junction needs to be caught. “Junctions should have high resolution
surveillance cameras to catch the number plates of the vehicles. Daredevilry shown in this video will definitely invite accidents,” he said.
When contacted, Vasco Traffic cell Police Inspector Suraj Samat, said he along with his team is on the look out for the unknown daredevil. “We are inquiring and investigating about this unknown person seen in this viral video”.
Samant also said, “Such violators will not be spared and strict action will be taken against traffic violators henceforth. People are requested to immediately inform the Traffic cell of Vasco about any information about this unknown traffic violator, so that action can be taken against him,” said Samant.
