CURCHOREM: In the Central Bank Curchorem fraud case, both the accused Tanvi Vast and Central Bank of India branch manager Anand Jadhav has been remanded for four more days custody by the JMFC court Quepem. They were earlier remanded to two days remand.

On Wednesday, Constancio Fernandes a 67 year old Constancio Fernandes, resident of Sangem who is partially paralysed has filed a complaint with the Curchorem Police that he was cheated to the tune of Rs 15.5 lakh when Tanvi offered to do a fixed deposit in his name but instead did it in her name and then cancelled out her name and wrote his name on the certificate in her own handwriting.

Earlier Sushma Asthana from Qepem had complained to the police against Tanvi and Jadhav that they had transferred Rs 20 lakh from her savings account under the pretext of making Fixed Deposit investment. Rosalina Correia and Anthony Dias of Cacora-Curchorem and Cristalina Coutinho of Curchorem are the other complainants.
Meanwhile, South Goa Superintendent of Police Sunita Sawant on Wednesday disclosed that gold ornaments valued at Rs 18.45 crores belonging to Rosalina Correia and Anthony Dias which Tanvi Vast had stolen were recovered. Tanvi has hand over fake ornaments to the bank and had deposited the ornaments with a private finance company and obtained a loan of Rs 8 lakh. When Rosalina came to know about the fraud and was planning to lodge a complaint with the police, she returned 4 ornaments to dissuade her from filing a police complaint
