Control election process: Rane

PANJIM: Raising suspicion that black money flows during the elections, Leader of the Opposition Pratapsing Rane has urged that government should ‘rethink’ and ‘control’ the election process.

He also alleged that corruption has percolated down to panchayat elections level. “Today can you fight elections? Cost of elections is going up! First control the election process,” he said. The senior Congressman also questioned as to how a regional party survives while refusing to comment further.
Asked about the Panjim by-poll, for which the Election Commission of India announced February 13, as a day for voting, he said “every election is significant.”
