Kharge Slams PM, Says Friendship with Trump Harmed India

Congress President Mallikarjun Kharge on Sunday criticized Prime Minister Narendra Modi for his close ties with former US President Donald Trump, claiming it has harmed India’s national interests. Speaking in Kalaburagi, Kharge said that while Modi and Trump may have been friends, Modi has become “an enemy of the nation” due to policies that hurt ordinary citizens, including the imposition of high US tariffs.

Kharge urged Modi to prioritize national interest over personal friendships, highlighting India’s long-standing neutral and non-aligned foreign policy. He also condemned the BJP government over revised GST slabs, alleging that the changes disproportionately affected the poor.
