Panjim Pay Parking Contract: Commencement Letter Shows Three-Year Term for Fee Collection

A Letter of Commencement issued by the Corporation of the City of Panaji (CCP) has directed Sohan Juwarker of Satyam Towers, Taleigao, to commence the collection of pay-parking fees in designated areas within the corporation’s jurisdiction under Phase-I of the project.

The letter, dated October 30, 2023, states that the CCP had received a security deposit equivalent to 10% of the bid/tendered amount and a bank guarantee equivalent to 60% of the bid/tendered amount, as required under the tender conditions.

Juwarker was subsequently directed to begin the collection of pay-parking fees in the designated areas in accordance with the terms and conditions of the agreement.

The commencement letter further required the contractor to deposit the applicable licence fee along with GST with the Corporation Treasury for the period from August 15, 2023 to October 31, 2023, with payments thereafter to be made on a monthly basis as stipulated in the agreement.

Importantly, the document specifies that the period of commencement was applicable from August 15, 2023 to August 14, 2026, covering a period of three years.

The letter was issued under the signature of then CCP Commissioner Clen Madeirа, GCS, and relates to the collection of pay-parking fees from designated areas across Panaji city.
