CANACONA: Canacona taluka got two of the 21 KTC buses allotted by the government in the first lot to the various government rural schools in the State.
The Sadolxem GHS and the Gowal GHS (Khola) are the two high schools of the six government high schools located in Canacona taluka which received these two 52-seater KTC buses.
Canacona MLA and Sports Minister Ramesh Tawadkar inaugurated the 52-seater KTC bus for students of Sadolxem GHS.
Sadolxem GHS Headmaster Sudesh Naik, PTA Chairman Deepak Naik, VP Poinguinim ex-sarpanch Kusta Talponkar, ex-headmaster and state awardee teacher Ulhas Pai Bhatikar, were present at the function.
Meanwhile, some parents have wondered if the larger KTC buses allotted to government rural schools would be in a position to negotiate the narrow roads.
They pointed that most Bal-Rath buses operating in aided schools, collect and drop students from a particular spot in centrally located rural areas.
