PANJIM: The two-wheeler supercross scene in Goa has now officially shifted to Navelim with the FMSCI, the National body governing the sport in India, scheduling a marshal training programme on February 9 and 10, disclosed Alan Sequeira, member of commission for promotion of supercross, motocross, flat track/dirt track events for 2012.

The workshop will be conducted on the same track where the supercross event will be held on February 11 and 12. “It is being held in order to train and certify track marshals for for all future events in the region.”
Alan explained, “ The trainees will undergo extensive theory and practical programme in which general safety, flag signals, hand signals, incident handling, race starting procedures, lap scoring, finish line procedures, Parc Ferme regulations, results and wireless communication skills will be imparted. The supplementary regulations will also be discussed.”
Anthony Rodriges, president of Fast Track Association of Goa, the organisers of the supercross championship said that the written test will determine the grade of marshal, who will then be certified by the FMSCI to officially marshal at various FMSCI events of various status.
