MARGAO: A superb brace by striker Manuel D’Costa helped Pax of Nagoa Sports Club to trounce Dicarpale Sports Club 3-0 and cruise into the semi-finals of all-Goa Wilred Leisure Super Soccer inter-village football tournament organized by Wilred Leisure Sports Club at DSYA ground, Curtorim, Wednesday. Nagoa led 1-0 at half time.
Nagoa dominated right from the word go. Manuel, who hogged the limelight, put his team ahead when he headed home off a Roy Almeida cross from the left.
Stung by the setback, Dicarpale tried their best to come back into the game but their efforts were thwarted by the rival defenders.
Crossing over, Nagoa continued to enjoy the lion’s share of exchanges and kept their opponents on the backfoot. Jesuino Pereira doubled the lead thanks to a lapse by the rival goalkeeper in the 49th minute.
Manuel nodded in to complete his brace in the 58th minute off a cross from Menino Pereira.
