PANJIM: The State was hit by unseasonal ‘December rain’ Thursday night as a trough in the easterlies extending from Kanyakumari to southwest Madhya Pradesh, had effected warm nights in the middle of the Goan winter.
The trough had extended across Goa and coastal Karnataka and the Met department had forecast the possibility of light showers.
Night temperatures had risen to 23.4 degrees Celsius on Wednesday, three degrees above normal and up from 18+ degrees Celsius a few days ago after the trough disturbed the normal weather conditions and the minimum temperature. The day temperatures have been steady at 33.3 degrees Celsius.
The Met department has predicted generally cloudy skies with the possibility of rain and a minimum temperature of around 23 degrees Celsius, for the next 48 hours.
