PANJIM: Chief Minister Pramod Sawant on Monday launched ‘MANDAVI’ (Mentoring and Nurturing Digital and Virtual Initiatives) programme aimed at mentoring and training the faculty to create high-quality massive open online courses (MOOCs).

On the occasion, the Directorate of Higher Education (DHE) also signed a Memorandum of Understanding with the Consortium for Educational Communication (CEC), which is the national coordinator designated by the Union Ministry of Education for MOOCs.
Sawant said that MANDAVI will create a bridge between the learners and advanced technology. He said that the State will become a role model for other States through such visionary programmes.
Through MANDAVI, the DHE has established a unique workshop support system where academic experts, film directors, animators and cameramen are brought onto a single platform to produce world-class academic material through MOOCs.
As part of this MoU, DHE handed over two Massive Open Online Courses (MOOCs), one in music and the other in analytical chemistry, to the CEC.
