FATORDA: Government Multipurpose Higher Secondary School Borda defeated Damodar English Higher Secondary School Margao 6-4 via the tie-breaker in the Salcete Taluka U-17 Boys Subroto Mukherjee football tournament, organised by Directorate of Sports and Youth Affairs and played at Astroturf ground, Fatorda, on Tuesday.
Sayed Arif netted the first goal for Multipurpose in the 16th minutes. Within ten minutes Sohail Tadkod equalised for Damodar High School. The scores were level 1-1 at the end of regulation time.
In the resultant tie-breaker, Governnment Multipurpose Higher Secondary proved to be better shooters.
In another match, Fr Basilio Andrade Higher Secondary School, Majorda got the better of St Joseph Educational Institute, Chandor 4-3 via the tiebreaker.
Prasili D’Costa scored for Fr Basilio while Chetan Verma equalised for St Joseph’s Educational Institute.
In the resultant tie-breaker, Fr Basilio Andrade school proved to be better shooters.
