RPF collects fine of Rs 3.52 lakh

MARGAO: The Railway Protection Force attached to the Konkan Railway apprehended 180 persons under various Railway Acts and collected a fine of Rs 3,52,135 in the first quarter of the current financial year.

Chief Public Relations Officer Vaishali Patange said the RPF seized 3,570 number of unclaimed illicit liquor bottles worth Rs 1,08,207 in the first quarter. They also apprehended 178 persons for anti-social activities, including trespassing, littering, creating nuisance, begging, drunkenness etc., and realized a total fine of Rs 1,96,590 towards the same. Two persons were apprehended for stealing railway property from yard and were booked under the Railway Protection (Unlawful Possession) Act.
As many as seven children, who had run away from home, were also reunited with their families by the RPF. During Joint Ticket Checking Campaign with Commercial Staff, 93 persons were caught travelling without tickets and a fine of Rs 47,338 was realized 
from them.
