Will meet demands before Sept 5, Babush to teachers

Education Minister Babush Monserrate has assured the All Goa Secondary School Teachers Association to resolve all demands of the teachers before Sept 5.
The assurance was given to a delegation of the Teachers Association which called on him to discuss all pending issues of the teachers, including implementation of Part-B.
Association President Vithoba Desai said that Bhaskar Nayak who is in-charge of distribution of laptops to the teachers, have also promised to disburse laptops to all the applicants before September 5.
The delegation thanked the Education Minister for his prompt intervention and commitment to fulfill the demands of the teachers. The delegation have expressed high hope regarding the fulfillment of their demands and anticipated better co-operation from the Education Minister.
Dessai bought to the notice of the Education Minster that earlier in V Pay Scales teachers were paid Part-B Scales which have to be automatically carried in VI Pay Scales. He informed that while implementing the VI Pay Scales the teachers have been erroneously placed in Part-A Scales which are categorically recommended for untrained and non-teaching category of employees.
The delegation informed the Education Minister and the Education Secretary that the Education Department is discriminating and meting step motherly treatment to the Aided School Teachers. The Minister was appraised about the delay in payment of aided school teachers and was requested to direct the Education Department to release Salary, T.A., D.A., Bonus, Arrears and supplementary bills in time.
