MARGAO: In a bid to ascertain the structural stability of the T B Cunha High School, Aquem, the South District Collector, Venancio Furtado, has decided to constitute a team of technical experts to determine the stability of the school building.
The office of the District Collector on Thursday received a report from the PWD, which had inspected the T B Cunha school building. The Collector informed that since the PWD report has called for an inspection of the school building by experts, he has decided to ask the PWD Principal Chief Engineer to depute a team of technical officials to inspect the school building.
“A letter to the Principal Chief Engineer will be issued on Friday to constitute a team to inspect the building and submit a report,” Venancio told Herald.
Furtado had personally inspected the school building following a row between the Fabrica of St Sebastian Church, the owner of the building and the school management represented by Chairman Narayan Desai.
The row erupted after the Fabrica carried out repairs of the building, an activity vehemently opposed by the school management, which claimed that they have already repaired the structure on the directions from then district Collector, N D Agrawal last year.
The main door of the building is presently locked Furtado while the school was allowed to lock the lab and library.
