Dempo SC thump YC Manora

PANJIM: Dempo Sports Club scored another huge win beating Youth Club of Manora 4-0 in the Goa Football Assocation Goa Pro League at Duler Stadium, Mapusa, on Thursday.

Suraj Hadkonkar scored a brace for the winning side netting in the 28th and 46th minute while Pedro Gonsalves netted the third in the 52nd minute. Latesh Mandrekar made it 4-0 in the 87th minute.

Dempo’s Klusner Pereira missed narrowly to score in the opening minutes as he saw his shot go wide. 

In the seventh minute, Dempo were denied in the game and it was the post which came to Manora’s rescue where Desmon saw his effort come off the bar.

The first half was more of Dempo’s game where they continued to miss their chances as this time it was Pedro, who failed to make the best out of Saiesh Bagkhar’s pass.

In the 28th minute, the Golden Eagles finally scored when Pedro played a through pass to Suraj, who hit a powerful shot which gave no chance for the rival keeper.

Crossing over, Dempo SC doubled the account soon after the restart where they capitalised on a defensive error and it was Suraj once again who completed his brace.

Pedro finally found the back of the net when Gaurav set up the former inside the box where he coolly scored to make it 3-0

Dempo SC goalkeeper Dylan D’Silva, who had a quite evening, made a late save to deny Aniston Fernandes from a free-kick.

Dylan made another save to deny Jason Barbosa’s  close-range header.

In the dying minutes of the game, Dempo SC scored their fourth goal when Manora keeper failed to collect Richard Cardozo’s strike and Latesh, who was in the right place tapped it home to make it 4-0.
