PANJIM: The Directorate of Sports and Youth Affairs employees union has threatened to campaign against Minister Ramesh Tawadkar in his Canacona constituency, if he failed to start the recruitment process by February 3, 2016 to take those who were unjustly given a break in service two years ago.
Addressing the media, Confederation of Workers Union President Ajitsing Rane, with which the Sports department employees union is affiliated, said the daily wage workers were given 15 days break two years ago and the department failed to take them in service despite several assurances from the Minister and its officers.
Rane said that if Tawadkar fails to start the recruitment process in the next four days they will work against the minister to defeat him in his constituency. Rane said all unemployed daily wage workers belong to the SC, ST and OBC community and with their support Tawadkar had won the last elections.
The employees association said they have tired of multiple morchas, dharnas, hunger strikes and demonstration and it is time to threaten the chair of the minister.
