Rs 1.17 lakh burgled at at Ponda

PONDA: Burglars struck the office of National Insurance Company located on the second floor of a building in the heart of Ponda city and decamped with Rs 1.17 lakh in cash, on the intervening night of Tuesday and Wednesday. 
The incident came to light on Wednesday morning at around 9.45 am when the employees of the company noted that the lock of the main door was broke open. Later, Branch Manger Rajendra Parsekar filed a police complaint on the incident. 
A dog squad and a fingerprint expert examined the crime scene, but failed to find any clue. A case is registered under Sections 354 and 547 of IPC.
