MARGAO: With the road from Ravanfond power house junction now tarred, the junction has now become dangerous.
The Davorlim village road which opens up to the junction has become dangerous to the commuters. Locals inform that almost every day there is a one minor or major accident on this junction. An accident on Sunday at this very junction created problems. People have been demanding rumbler strips or speed breakers at the road coming from Ravanfond. Locals told that all concerned departments are passing the buck to put a speed breaker on the junction.
Anand Sawant a Davorlim local told that they have been asking for speed breaker on the junction for a long time now. “I have been told that the MMC has been sitting over our demand of rumbler strips. Are you waiting for a major disaster to happen?” asked Anand Sawant. The locals have been demanding proper planning of the Junction from 2007.
“If some villager is harmed due to the mess at the junction the villagers will take to the streets and barge into the offices of the concerned officers,” warned Anand Sawant.
“These Officials who are responsible to ensure safety on roads for commuters are good for nothing as they have not been able to fulfill our demands,” he told.
