PANJIM: Salgaocar FC went ballistic as they demolish Ave Maria AWC 10-1 in the GFA U-18 League match at Cansaulim ground, on Tuesday.
The first half saw the Greens nearly get an early lead as Liston Colaco sent in a cross which Devendra Murgaonkar headed wide in the very first minute of play.
It wouldn’t be the same just four minutes later as a corner sent into the Ave Maria AWC box by Shane this time found the back of the net after Devendra let it fly past the custodian like a bullet.
In the 12th minute of the game, Shane repeated his brilliant set piece skill and this time it was Flagan Rodrigues, who headed home as the score line read 2-0. The final goal of the first half was scored by Liston in a similar fashion off of Shane’s corner.
At Lemon break the Greens sat comfortably on a lead of 3-0.
The 2nd half didn’t have much change in fate for the Ave Maria AWC lads as they struggled to get the ball from their Salgaocar FC counterparts. As the pressure mounted the Greens were awarded a penalty after a defender was fouled for handling the ball which Divyansh Sudan converted as he stepped-up to the spot.
As Salgaocar FC continued to play their usual brand of attacking football, Shane this time scored a goal as Audrich made a clever back-pass for the former to beat the Ave Maria AWC custodian.
Shane aided another goal around the hour mark as he crossed in a ball for Dylan Lourenco to make it 6-0. In the 65th minute, Rolwin played a terrific through ball to Shane, who scored his brace as he completed his involvement in six out of the 10 goals of the day.
Just three minutes later, Liston headed one home after Rolwin sent in a cross to complete his brace too. Rolwin assisted in another this time as Dylan took advantage to get his name on the score-sheet.
The Ave Maria AWC lads scored their sole goal in the 73rd minute. Rolwin signed off for the evening by scoring the 10th goal from Liston’s cross.
In another match played at Raia ground, Sporting Clube de Goa continued their winning momentum as they outplayed Panchwadi United SC 6-0.
Sporting Clube’s Carry Vaz opened the scoreline with a fantastic shot in the 13th minute to get an early advantage after which the Flaming Oranje boys played a controlled game while keeping most of the possession and giving very little room to Panchwadi United forwards to operate.
In the 39th minute, Shubert Pereira doubled the lead with another fantastic shot beating two defenders marking him. The score stayed 2-0 at the half time.
Second half saw Sporting Clube lads play with ease and totally dominated the match with some good attacking football. Shubert Pereira netted his second in the 63rd minute making it 3-0 for Sporting Clube.
Clive Miranda (70′) and Perryson Fernandes (72′ and 74′) netted three more in the space of four minutes to seal the deal for Sporting Clube.
