It’s only a few months back the greenery along the bund from Salvador do Mundo Church to Britona was a delightful sight to the villagers and passers-by. Migratory birds visited the site for seasonal mating or change of season. Suddenly, much to the surprise of everyone, the flora have turned dry and rickety looking twigs. Though no one knows the reason, a few village elders softly whisper sitting in their balcao: issh! Ek motto project eta him, takach lagon hem sogllem gott’tta (a big project is coming up, that’s the reason).
While nature lovers and environment conscious villagers of Salvador do Mundo are worried over the ruthless destruction of the enchanting beauty existing since ancestral time, the local self-governing body sitting mum on the unexpected happening is obvious, according to some feelers in the village.
