PANJIM: Heavy rains and strong winds in the last two days have further delayed the towing of the casino ship M V Lucky 7 from Miramar beach. The salvors are asked to refloat the vessel into deeper waters before the matter comes up for hearing before the High Court of Bombay at Goa on September 27.
“Rough sea condition, strong winds and heavy showers are delaying the towing exercise. The vessel cannot be risked in this bad weather,” said one of the salvors present at the site. The refloating operation is likely to resume on Monday, subject to the weather.
On September 15, unfavourable tide and snapping of a rope tied to the ship and one of the three tug boats had brought the salvaging exercise to a standstill.
