MARGAO: The Goynche Niz Mogi (GNM) on Tuesday has demanded to know whether the stopping sale of beef in Goa was a conspiracy by the RSS, while reminding that the Directive Principles of State Policy mandates that a government safeguards the interest of its people.
Addressing the media here on Tuesday, GNM President James Fernandes said that the basic philosophy of the RSS is to use love as a tool to capture and destroy an enemy.
“Accordingly, Chief Minister, Manohar Parrikar has cast his love web far and wide, capturing several MLAs, well wishers and men of goodwill. Thereafter, the MLAs, Ministers and men of goodwill are hypnotized and manipulated to follow the RSS doctrine,” he alleged.
He raised a host of questions as to why beef has disappeared from Goa and who is to be blamed for the difficulties faced by the minorities and questioned the silence of the Christian Ministers and MLAs. “When there’s a large beef eating population in Nuvem, Aldona, Vasco, Calangute, Velim, Navelim, Mapusa and Cortalim constituencies, why are MLAs representing these constituencies deaf, dumb and mute to the problems of the people. Why are they scared? What stops them from demanding answers from Parrikar,” James demanded.
He said the Chief Minister should have defeated the petition by using every resource available to the government by giving a firm and undiluted assurances to the court that every illegality would be eliminated to the satisfaction of the court. “He could have pleaded relief of two months by giving an assurance to the court that the government would eradicate every irregularity at the Goa Meat Complex. The government should have also asked for relief on grounds that vast sections of Goans depend on beef for their daily diet”, he said.
