PONDA: Usgao Dhavshirem Government Primary School students and their parents have warned to boycott on classes for shortage of teachers. Parents gave fifteen-day deadline to appoint one additional teacher or else warned agitation against Assistant District Education Inspector (ADEI) at Ponda.

PTA Chairman, Ulhas Satarkar said, “For 100 Students only three teachers are insufficient and causing educational loss to students. If government fails to appoint one additional teacher we will launch agitation.”
Parents said from Class 1 to Class 4 there are 100 students and four classes. Earlier there were four teachers. But after transfer of one teacher in March the vacant position has not been filled till date.
Parents said they were told by ADEI that this teacher is transferred for just 15 days and after she would join back to school. As there was COVID pandemic the parents did not objected to it. However as fifteen days passed the parents met ADEI Ponda where the official told parents that since it’s an evening school, the teachers are not ready to teach at this school. The ADEI even appointed one teacher on June 6, but that teacher refused to join her duty at Dhavshirem School.
Parents said since no teacher is ready to teach in evening session, the parents even arranged one spacious place to arrange classes in morning session however ADEI failed to arrange budgetary provision to hire the place and pay its rent. Parents earlier even met CM Pramod Sawant and informed him that the students are suffering as classes are held at evening time.
