MARGAO: The South Goa Collectorate witnessed uproar over the issuance of Aadhar card forms on Wednesday.
Citizens claimed that the office has restricted the issuance of the forms to one form per person, claiming that the system has put them to severe inconvenience, especially school-going children and senior citizens. They also demanded additional cameras to cater to the growing requirements.
Curtorim panch Diniz Sardinha told the media that the official issuing the forms was rude in his behaviour, while activist Laurel Abranches condemned the attitude of the official in dealing with the public.
Salcete mamlatdar Triveni Velip said the matter was later resolved amicably. She said one member of a family can take a form and also take an appointment for other members of the family. “The head of the family need not get all the family members to stand in a queue to obtain the Aadhar form, but he or she can seek appointment for other family members based on the form issued to him,” she said.
The Mamlatdar has ruled out the question of requisitioning additional cameras to hasten the process.
