“The policy will first go to Industries Minister for scrutiny and thereafter it will be kept open for public suggestions for one month,” he told reporters after attending the goa Industrial Development Corporation (GIDC) board meeting, Satuday morning.
Chief Minister said that government aims to implement the policy at the earliest thereby triggering industrial development.
“We have not missed the bus. Yes I agree there is a delay but we will soon be catching the right bus,” he said when asked whether Goa has missed the bus on industrial front.
Parrikar said that government has received several proposals for industrial projects, which have not been cleared, pending finalization of investment policy.
“By monsoon end the policy would be finalized and subsequently it would be implemented,” he said. The draft policy has aimed to attract investment of Rs 5,000 crore and create 50,000 jobs over the next five years in the state.
When contacted, task force committee member said that the draft policy would be mostly submitted by month-end or by the first week of August.
Official said that the draft is almost ready and before handing it to government, the committee wants to have a re-look.
