MARGAO: Maina Curtorim police arrested one Gajanan Naik from Dramapur in connection with a theft at Sateri Kamakshi Saunstha temple at Santemol. Raia.
Gajanan, a regular visitor, was caught in the act stealing cash from the fund box. On Tuesday, a lady while cleaning the temple premises saw him stealing cash. She then raised an alarm and alerted others. Another lady — Nayan Chari caught Gajanan and handed him over to the police, who recovered the stolen cash from Gajanan.
Maina Curtorim police have recorded the statements of the eyewitnesses and a case of theft has been registered against Gajanan.
