PONDA: A 23-year-old resident of Ponda has been accused of kidnapping a 16-year-old girl also from Ponda. According to Ponda Police, the incident was reported on June 1 and the girl’s mother lodged the police complaint on Monday.
The complainant claimed that the accused kidnapped her minor daughter. Police are on the lookout for the accused and the minor girl. According to sources, Ponda Police contacted both the accused and the victim over the phone however both have refused to return to Goa. The accused and the victim are reported to be in Belgaum. This is the fourth such case registered with Ponda Police involving minor girls since April this year and like the other three cases, police suspect a possible love angle.
