CALANGUTE: The newly constructed cross drains cutting across the roads leading to Calangute-Candolim are posing a serious threat to life and property of the motorists, especially two-wheelers, due to uneven tarring at the borders of the drains.
According to sources, borders of the drains are horridly done. “The borders are roughly done and placed leaving behind humps which pose a threat to life of motorists. The uneven edges tend to disrupt the vehicular movement,” said a source.
Due to the uneven bounce, many two-wheeler riders have lost control resulting in accidents.
Meanwhile, a speed breaker in close vicinity of Reira Petrol Pump needs urgent attention from authorities concerned, as there is no sign or warning.
Calangute MLA Michael Lobo assured to look into the matter.
