Sarpanch Agostinho D’Costa who presided over the meeting informed the villagers that the panchayat had already approached and written to electricity department executive engineer and the chief engineer on the power problems faced by locals. He also said that the issue of two additional linemen was also put before the authorities concerned, but that sadly there was no action taken. Presently there only two linemen posted in the village.
Further the sarpanch informed of efforts being made to meet the chief minister along with local MLA Benjamin Fernandes so as to put before the CM the problems of villagers. Villager Wilson Viegas suggested that the sarpanch approach media in regard to indifferent attitude of power department authorities in attending to grievances of villagers. Villagers asked the panchayat to approach the Navelim panchayat in regard to garbage dumping at Jacknibund and Zizabund.
and request Navelim officials to keep a watch on people dumping garbage at these places. The gram sabha also took resolution directing the panchayat body to approach the mamlatdar and find out what action is being taken to clear/remove the illegal garbage dump at Jacknibund. Earlier, the secretary read the last gram sabha minutes which were approved.
