MARGAO: Villagers from Chandor-Cavorim panchayat were informed at Sunday gram sabha by Sarpanch Etelvina Antao that the panchayat has completed survey of all migrants residing in rented rooms in the village along with details of landlords.
Villagers were informed that the data would be given to development committee members as well as the respective police station to keep a check on migrants. Sarpanch said that the phone numbers of landlords would help police to check the address if a migrant is found moving in village.
To the demand by villagers that panchayat take over open spaces in developed project, the sarpanch informed that the same could be taken over only if the respective dwellers of the housing project give NOC to the panchayat or else that the dwellers could develop the same.
Villagers pointed out that the Health Minister Paresekar, during his visit to the village, had promised to upgrade the health centre and provide a doctor and sought to know the status of the promise. To which the sarpanch informed that the panchayats was in contact with the local MLA Rajan Naik who has promised to follow up the matter after the assembly session. Gram sabha members were informed that the processes to appoint consultant for construction of hall has already began. The project is to be taken up under Dindayal Scheme were Rs 1 crore will be made available to the panchayat.
for the purpose, it was informed. Further, the sarpanch informed that the panchayat would approach Guirdolim panchayat to move a proposal for construction of railway over-bridge at Guirdolim-Chandor crossing.
