PANJIM: The Central Bureau of Investigation Goa office has clarified that they will not close the infamous 2013 Mormugao minor girl rape case even as attempts to nab the main accused have hit a dead end. The CBI, a few months ago detained a suspect from West Bengal in connection with the case. However, the fingerprints collected from the crime scene did not match the suspect.
Goa CBI Superintendent of Police Ashesh Kumar said that they will keep investigating the case. The CBI had moved for closure of the case in 2017 only to be objected to by the victim’s parents.
